001
Only in the eye of the storm does the wind lie still.
Fifty jackets, numbered 001 to 050. There is no restock. Not this season, not later, not in another colour. What exists is what exists.
Cut oversized and worn closed. Built for a coastline in February rather than a photograph of one.

ABRI-01 opens to everyone at 19:00 on Thursday 29 October. Those who have reserved receive the link at 18:00 and choose from all fifty.
Nothing is taken now. A reservation is an hour, not an obligation.
Denier measures the weight of a yarn. Most outerwear sits somewhere between twenty and seventy. At seven, the fabric is fine enough that the shell weighs less than the shirt underneath it, and light passes into the surface before the down turns it back.
Very few mills weave at this count, and fewer will run it at the volume a fifty-piece release needs. The yarn is unforgiving on the loom and expensive to waste. That is why you have not seen it on a street silhouette before. It has lived in expedition kit, where weight is counted in grams.
The result behaves nothing like the puffer you are expecting. The ripstop grid stops a tear where it starts instead of letting it run the length of a panel. The weight disappears across the shoulder. The surface holds light rather than flattening it, so the olive reads differently depending on where you stand.
Everything Storm’s Eye makes after this inherits from it. That is a heavy thing to put on a first release, which is the point of doing it.
Abri is French for shelter. A doorway out of the rain, a lean-to on a hillside, the thing you stand under when the weather turns. It is the plainest description of what this jacket is for, and we could not improve on it.
The same three letters open two much older words. Abram, the exalted father, who in Genesis is renamed Abraham and told that he will be the father of many nations. And abir, the mighty one, the name used of the God of Jacob. Shelter and strength out of the same few letters, with a father’s name sitting underneath both.
That is the sense we wanted. Not a jacket that arrives and goes, but the first of a line. The 01 is a promise that something follows, and that what follows will carry the same name and be held to what this one set.
Hold a phone to the label and the jacket replies. Nothing to type and nothing to keep hold of. Every reply it gives has never been used before and will never be accepted again, so a screenshot of it proves nothing and a copy of the address proves nothing either.
Behind the label sits a private archive that belongs to the garment rather than to you. Photographs, video and sound. Sell it, lend it or hand it down and the archive goes with it, so whoever holds it next inherits everywhere it has already been.
Built into all fifty pieces.
